

Alan Lowy has been teaching
photography workshops and seminars for over 30 years and has lectured throughout
the country.
Prior to his move to
Arizona
and the establishment of Cavecreek
Photographic Workshops, Alan was co-founder and co-director of the Detroit-based
Midwest Photographic Workshops from 1976 through 2002.
Alan has won numerous awards for his portraiture, fine-art figure
studies, photojournalism, nature, and creative images.
Published in 1999 by Amherst Media, Alan co-authored the book,
"Photographer’s Guide to Shooting Model & Actor Portfolios".
Alan began as a commercial
photographer in 1967. His experience
encompasses catalogue, fashion, product, food, interior, and architectural
photography. He became especially
well-known for his model portfolios and fine-art figure-in-the-environment
images.
For
14 years, he taught adult education classes at
Michigan’s Cranbrook Institute of Science. In
addition to his workshop classes, Alan continues as an active commercial photographer.
He is a Certified Photographic Consultant (CPC) and is available for
model portfolios and private lessons.
